Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Mohit Soya Chunks
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
  • Cooking oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Start by soaking the Mohit Soya Chunks in hot water for about 15-20 minutes. This will soften them and make them ready for cooking. After soaking, drain and squeeze out any excess water from the soya chunks.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the soaked and drained soya chunks to the pan.
  3. Fry the soya chunks until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. This will take about 5-7 minutes. Once fried, remove them from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  5. Stir in the ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
  7. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the masala until the oil starts to separate.
  8. Add the fried soya chunks back to the pan. Toss them in the masala to coat them evenly.
  9. Sprinkle garam masala powder and give it a final mix.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  11. Remove from heat and transfer the Soya Chunks Fry to a serving dish.
  12. Serve hot with roti, rice, or as a snack with lemon wedges on the side.

Tips:

  • You can adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of red chili powder.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving to enhance the flavor.
  • Feel free to add other spices or herbs of your choice to customize the flavor according to your taste.
