Ingredients:
- 1 cup Mohit Soya Chunks
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tomato, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
- Cooking oil
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- Start by soaking the Mohit Soya Chunks in hot water for about 15-20 minutes. This will soften them and make them ready for cooking. After soaking, drain and squeeze out any excess water from the soya chunks.
- Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the soaked and drained soya chunks to the pan.
- Fry the soya chunks until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. This will take about 5-7 minutes. Once fried, remove them from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
- Stir in the ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the masala until the oil starts to separate.
- Add the fried soya chunks back to the pan. Toss them in the masala to coat them evenly.
- Sprinkle garam masala powder and give it a final mix.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
- Remove from heat and transfer the Soya Chunks Fry to a serving dish.
- Serve hot with roti, rice, or as a snack with lemon wedges on the side.
Tips:
- You can adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of red chili powder.
- Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving to enhance the flavor.
- Feel free to add other spices or herbs of your choice to customize the flavor according to your taste.
