Vegan Momo Recipe!

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup Mohit Soya Chunks, boiled and finely chopped
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, cabbage, bell peppers), finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish

For the Outer Covering:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  • Water, as needed
  • Salt to taste

For the Filling:

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  • Add finely chopped mixed vegetables and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender.
  • Add the boiled and chopped Mohit Soya Chunks to the pan. Mix well.
  • Add soy sauce, vinegar, black pepper powder, and salt. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Remove the filling from heat and let it cool down.

For the Outer Covering:

  • In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt.
  • Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth and elastic dough. The dough should be firm yet pliable.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.

Assembling and Cooking the Momo:

  • Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a thin, circular wrapper.
  • Place a spoonful of the prepared filling in the center of the wrapper.
  • Begin folding the wrapper to create pleats and seal the edges. Twist and pinch the top to close the momo.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining dough and filling.
  • Steam the momos in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  • Serve the hot and delicious Soya Veg Momos with your favorite dipping sauce.
  • You can customize the filling with your preferred vegetables and seasonings.
  • Serve the momos with a spicy tomato chutney or a tangy soy dipping sauce.
