Soya Fry

  • 1 cup Mohit Soya Chunks
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
  • Cooking oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Start by soaking the Mohit Soya Chunks in hot water for about 15-20 minutes. This will soften them and make them ready for cooking. After soaking, drain and squeeze out any excess water from the soya chunks.
  • Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the soaked and drained soya chunks to the pan.
  • Fry the soya chunks until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. This will take about 5-7 minutes. Once fried, remove them from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  • Stir in the ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well and cook the masala until the oil starts to separate.
  • Add the fried soya chunks back to the pan. Toss them in the masala to coat them evenly.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and give it a final mix.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the Soya Chunks Fry to a serving dish.
  • Serve hot with roti, rice, or as a snack with lemon wedges on the side.
  • You can adjust the spiciness by varying the amount of red chili powder.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving to enhance the flavor.
  • Feel free to add other spices or herbs of your choice to customize the flavor according to your taste.
